Deployment models

Three production grade ways to run ERPNext. We recommend based on data residency, team size, budget and integration footprint.

Frappe Cloud

Managed ERPNext on the official Frappe cloud. Fastest path to production with no infrastructure overhead. Best for small teams without strict data residency needs.

Self-Hosted in Australia

ERPNext Docker on AWS Sydney, Azure Australia East, Google Cloud Sydney or your own data centre. Full data sovereignty and predictable infrastructure cost.

Hybrid

Production self-hosted in Australia. Development and staging on Frappe Cloud or ephemeral Docker. The mid-market sweet spot for cost, agility and sovereignty.

Frappe development and customization

Every customization we build follows the Frappe conventions: custom DocTypes, custom fields, server scripts, client scripts, hooks, fixtures and properly versioned Frappe apps. The result is customizations that survive every version upgrade.

What we build in Frappe

  • • Custom DocTypes and naming series
  • • Server scripts and scheduled jobs
  • • Client scripts and form customizations
  • • Custom REST APIs and webhooks
  • • Print formats and Print Designer templates
  • • Workflow rules and approval matrices
  • • Role and user permissions
  • • Custom dashboards, reports and charts
  • • Versioned private Frappe apps
  • • ERPNext version upgrades

FAQ

ERPNext questions

What is ERPNext?
ERPNext is a fully open source ERP built on the Frappe Framework. It covers accounting, inventory, manufacturing, HR, payroll, CRM, projects and assets in one platform. It runs self-hosted or on Frappe Cloud and has no per-user licence cost.
Where do I download ERPNext?
ERPNext source is on the official ERPNext GitHub organisation. Production deployments use the official frappe_docker images. We do not recommend self-installing for production unless you already have strong DevOps capability. We deliver hardened ERPNext Docker on Australian infrastructure with backups, monitoring and upgrade automation.
Where is the ERPNext demo and login?
Frappe runs a public ERPNext demo for evaluation. For real evaluation we usually spin up a private ERPNext demo loaded with your chart of accounts, items, customers and a representative workflow. The standard ERPNext login URL is /login on any ERPNext instance, configurable for SSO and 2FA.
Can ERPNext run on Docker?
Yes. ERPNext Docker via the official frappe_docker repository is the standard production deployment method. We deploy it on AWS Sydney, Azure Australia East, Google Cloud Sydney or your own infrastructure with TLS, MariaDB and Redis tuning, scheduled backups, blue-green upgrades and monitoring.
ERPNext vs Odoo, which should we choose?
Both are credible open source ERPs. ERPNext wins on licence cost (no per-user fees), simpler customization through the Frappe Framework, and a single coherent codebase. Odoo wins on breadth of pre-built apps and partner ecosystem in certain verticals. We run vendor neutral selection.
Where is the ERPNext documentation?
Official ERPNext documentation is at docs.erpnext.com and the Frappe Framework documentation at frappeframework.com. Both are reasonable for self learners but assume some technical background. We supplement with role based SOPs and recorded walkthroughs during implementation.
Are there ERPNext tutorials I can follow?
Yes. Frappe School (frappe.school) has free and paid ERPNext tutorials from beginner to advanced developer level. The accounting, stock and Frappe Framework tutorials are a good starting point.
Can you build custom Frappe apps?
Yes. Custom Frappe app development is a core capability. We build new DocTypes, server scripts, client scripts, scheduled jobs, REST APIs, custom workflows, print formats and dashboards. Everything stays upgrade safe.
Do you provide ERPNext training and corporate training?
Yes. We run super-user enablement during implementation, end-user training cascaded through super users, and standalone ERPNext corporate training programs for teams that already run ERPNext but need to lift capability. On-site Australia wide and remote.
Can ERPNext be automated with AI agents?
Yes. We build agentic AI workflows on top of ERPNext using n8n, self-hosted LLMs and the OpenClaw AI platform. Common use cases are invoice triage and bill coding, sales order entry from email, debtor follow up, purchase reconciliation and approval routing, with human in the loop where it matters.
Can ERPNext integrate with Power BI?
Yes. We connect ERPNext to Power BI through MariaDB read replicas with semantic models, scheduled refresh and row-level security. The same approach works for Metabase and Looker Studio.
Can ERPNext integrate with Xero, MYOB, HubSpot and Shopify?
Yes. The Frappe REST API and webhook framework make ERPNext integration clean. Standard integrations include Xero or MYOB GL, HubSpot or Salesforce CRM, Shopify or WooCommerce, 3PL and WMS, Employment Hero or KeyPay payroll and Stripe payments.
How long does an ERPNext implementation take?
A focused single-entity ERPNext implementation runs 8 to 16 weeks. Multi-entity, manufacturing heavy or integration heavy rollouts run 4 to 9 months. We stage delivery so each phase has a working milestone rather than a single big bang go-live.
ERPNext vs Dolibarr, when does each make sense?
Dolibarr is a lighter weight open source ERP and CRM that suits smaller businesses. ERPNext is significantly broader, covering manufacturing, multi-entity finance, project accounting, HR and payroll in one platform, and is the stronger choice past roughly 20 users.
