Is Sophos a good firewall for Australian businesses?
For many small and mid-sized businesses, yes, especially those using Sophos endpoint protection, where Synchronized Security adds real value. It is easier to manage day to day than some enterprise firewalls. Larger or highly regulated environments may need features found in other vendors, which we discuss during the review.
Do you configure Sophos Synchronized Security?
Yes. Connecting Sophos Firewall with Intercept X through Sophos Central is a normal part of our Sophos configuration work, so a device reporting a threat can be restricted automatically while it is investigated.
We still have Sophos XG hardware. What should we do?
Older XG appliances are reaching end of life, after which they stop receiving updates. We review your current configuration, size a replacement XGS appliance or an alternative vendor, migrate the rules and cut over with a rollback plan.
What affects the cost of Sophos firewall configuration?
The main factors are the number of sites and appliances, remote access and site-to-site VPN needs, how much existing policy needs cleaning up, and whether you want ongoing management. Hardware and Xstream subscriptions are separate. We quote after an initial review.
